LIVING ART: Brand-Marks
How powerful is a signature?
I will be sharing in the
following paragraphs a summary of my answer to this question. The world of technology has experienced quite a
dramatic transformation over the past decade. Travelling back in time, the
development of mobile phones has been quite an experience. Product names that
were authorities at the time are rarely mentioned and not easy to come buy
these days. For some of us who have stayed for some time on the earth, names
like Motorola, Blackberry, Alcatel, Nec, Thuraya will certainly ring a bell.
Getting a phone wasn't as easy as it has been in recent times. These days, you
can just walk into any phone store by the road side and purchase a phone of
your choice and is most likely to get the exact product you are paying for. It
wasn't always like that, I remember a scenario where a friend wanted to buy a
blackberry phone, he was so anxious about it he didn't seek proper counsel. He
hurriedly went on his own to get a blackberry phone and came back home with a
phone that looked like Blackberry but was not anything close to an actual
Blackberry.
The question then is why will a learned person be
deceived or tricked is such a manner? Signature. A signature is
a person's name, written by that person, used as identification or to
signify approval of accompanying material, such as a legal contract, cheque,
document or a letter. Look at the picture below, the little child is holding a
product with no name written on it, just a signature.
I am certain you know the product already. How? There is a well known signature on it. In the same vein, the phone my friend had been given a phone
that had a signature that was an exact replica of of the blackberry signature. One
unique thing about signatures is that, they are often come last. For instance,
when an individual signs a cheque, formal letters, contracts, etc, a signature
is only appended when the signatory has reviewed what has been written, is
satisfied or agrees with was has been written and is willing to take
responsibility for whatever is being signed. I haven't come across any artist
who will release their work without appending their signature to it (just
because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there). In a bid to add to the
knowledge I already had, I queried Google.com "why do artist sign their
work". The answers were: tradition, claiming ownership, increasing
value/worth. How does this apply to you?
From now on let no one cause trouble for me, for I bear on my body
the brand-marks(signature) of Jesus.
Galatians 6:17 (NASB)
The whole
essence of these series is to reveal/re-affirm to you that, you are
God's art work and as such you possess all the characteristics and more.
1. You are complete: Before God could put His
brand-marks on you, He carried out a product & quality assurance testing on
you to ensure His predefined specifications were met and that you are well
suited for the purpose He designed you for. Hence, you are a complete, tested
and trusted product. Colossians 2:10.
2. You are God's Property: God is not ashamed to
identify with you. His putting His brand-marks on saying to the whole world
this is my product and I am totally responsible. Like the word,
signature(sign-nature). God's mark on you is simply God putting a sign that you
carry His nature. Isaiah 43:21.
3. You are Valuable: I hadn't mention also that my friend had paid exactly the same amount he would have paid for the original Blackberry phone he wanted. Why? He was paying for the image, if he was charged lesser, he probably would have figured out he was buying a fake product. God made you in His image and likeness, He didn't stop there He added His brand-marks. Do you know what that means? An apple phone placed side by side with another brand sharing the same specifications will cost more, why? It's in the brand-marks. Imagine a product(you) that was made by God Himself. Never doubt your worth. Psalm 8:4-6.
(Who are you), that (He is) mindful of (you)? and the son of man,
that thou visitest him? For that hast made him a little lower than angels, and
hast crowned (you) with glory and honour. (He has made you to have dominion
over the works of (His) hands (and) has put all things under (your) feet.
Psalm 8:4-6 (KJV (paraphrased))
When you
go out this week, walk with your head high having your mind flooded with the
truth that you have the signature of God on your forehead, like your forehead
ooo. You are untouchable. To be continued...

Beautiful piece.
