LIVING ART: God's Masterpiece
Some weeks ago, while speaking with a friend, I made a very serious comment and literally spent the rest of week thinking upon it because of the events that followed. I simply said "if I die today (with everything I believe I can to offer to humanity), I would be robbing a generation of treasures" and I say this with all sense of humility, for deep inside, I understand that, I only know so little. About two days after making this confident statement, I became sick. It was so severe that after series of self medication, there was no improvement whatsoever. By this time, I knew the best bet was visiting a medical doctor for proper diagnosis. You are probably wondering why I hadn't seen one earlier, the truth I look back too and ask myself the same question. When I finally book an appointment with my doctor, he did what every professional medical doctor should do (ask all the necessary questions and carry out appropriate tests). All the test results came out negative to everything the doctor had suspected, I was advised to go for a COVID test. Instead of a COVID test, I opted for a two day sick leave away from work to rest and luckily I recovered fully. Thanks to God, family and friends who supported and prayed for me.
This post is not aimed at telling you about me, instead, I seek to tell you about you. At first thought, the above story might seem irrelevant giving the simplicity of its presentation, because it is easy to think it was just a mild sickness but trust me, it wasn't. What would the world have missed had I died from that sickness? A more appropriate question will be "What will the world miss if you die today? Rather, a better question will be "what would you start doing differently if you were told you just had a few days to live? During the time of that sickness, there wasn't a time where I was afraid of dying, I instead was scared that I had not lived. A young fine man who was diagnosed with cancer and told he had only a few months to live once said "you don't have to find out you are dying to start living".
As simple as the word living may seem, it has become really elusive in our times. No time in the history of mankind has living being so difficult and far fetched especially, for the tagged "less prvileged". Despite the tremendous technoligacl advancements the world has experienced over the past decade which always comes with the promise of a better life for mankind, which agreeably has made the world a better place in its own way and context, it seems to appear that with the increase technological achievements comes a corresponding increase in the social problems faced by mankind. The likes of the COVID-19 pandemic and all of its variants, the Talibans making life unbearable for the inhabitants of Afghanistan, the religious crises experienced in too numerous to mention communities, economic upheavals, the list goes on... are proofs of this assertion. However, in the midst of all of these crises, I writing to you this very moment to confidently say you can still live your best life amidst all these challenges.
There is so much to say and all of it cannot be scribbled into a single post. I personally don't like reading long posts hence, we will be going through this series in bits and I guarantee that you wouldn't be the same person you were before started reading it. For this episode, I want to understand that you are God's art work. Ephesians 2:10.
"For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above-spiritually transfromed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].." AMP
You will never understand how amazing that truth if you don't have an appreciation for art. The highest form of expression is an art work. An art work requires loves, skill, creativity, imagination, time, patience, effort, perseverance, the list goes on and on. So imagine the list God had to check before He could make you. It's amazing to know that when God decided to express His skill, creativity, imagination, time, patience, etc, He ended up with a masterpiece and that masterpiece was YOU. An art work is an expressed idea, the unveiling of what lies within that has been set free. However, the wonder of an art is not the fact that it has been given life but that the life it has been given, was given for a purpose.
In conclusion, have you ever taken out the time to ever consider why God will go through all that work just to create you? To be continued...

Great! I will die empty.
